General description
The SCT282 Mito Membrane Potential Live Cell Detection Kit overcomes the limitations of reagents likeJC-1 dye, TMRE, and TMRM widely used to monitor mitochondrial embrane potential (MMP). These existing reagents often exhibit low photostability and poor retention after aldehyde fixation. Such limitations result in poor reproducibility of experiments. SCT282 demonstrates remarkable retention and photostability that enable reliable, reproducible monitoring of MMP.
Features and Benefits
This live cell probe is highly sensitive to changes in mitochondrial membrane potential.
Target description
Mitochondria are important organelles that utilize oxygen to synthesize ATP, producing the necessary energy for living cells to function and survive. Decreased mitochondrial activity and mitochondrial dysfunction are associated with cancer, aging, and neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer′s and Parkinson′s diseases (AD and PD). Mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) has therefore been widely studied in the context of health and disease where mitochondrial function is a key indicator.References1) K. F. Ferri, et al., J. Exp. Storage and Stability
Store BioTracker™ Mito Membrane Potential Live Cell Detection Kit at -20 °C, protected from light.
Other Notes
SCT282 is a live cell probe, but is also amenable to fixation after staining.Diluting BioTracker™ Mito Membrane Potential Live Cell Detection Kit 1:1000 is recommended, but dilution may vary from 1:500 to 1:2000, depending on the end user application. Dilute the 10x Imaging Buffer (1:10) in double-deionized water.Dilute the MT-1 Dye (1:1000) in the cell culture medium to prepare working solution, and use the same day.
