Gene Information

human ... UTF1(8433)

General description

Undifferentiated embryonic cell transcription factor 1 is a nucleus protein encoded by the UTF1 gene in human and functions as a transcriptional coactivator of ATF2. UTF1 is reported to interact with the ATF-2 metal binding motif via the leucine zipper motif within its conserved domain 2 (CD2) and both CD1 & CD2 of UTF1 and also independently mediates association with TATA-binding protein-containing complex. (PMID 9749258)

Specificity

Other homologies: mouse, rat 95%.

Immunogen

Epitope: Near N-terminus
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to human UTF1 near N-terminus.

Application

Anti-UTF1 Antibody is an antibody against UTF1 for use in Western Blotting and Immunohistochemistry.
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:50 dilution from a representative lot detected UTF1 in mouse kidney and rat liver tissue.

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blotting in mouse embryonic stem cell lysate.

Western Blotting Analysis: 0.5 µg/mL of this antibody detected UTF1 in 10 µg of mouse embryonic stem cell lysate.

Target description

~48 kDa observed. UTF1, a novel transcriptional coactivator expressed in pluripotent embryonic stem cells and extra-embryonic cells (Okuda, A., et al. (1998). EMBO. 17(7):2019–2032).
