Allgemeine Beschreibung
2,5-Diphenyloxazol (auch PPO oder p-Phenylphenoxazol) ist eine fluoreszierende organische Verbindung. Es kann aufgrund seiner hohen Photolumineszenz-Quantenausbeute und seiner faszinierenden lumineszierenden Eigenschaften auch als organischer Szintillator verwendet werden. Es wird häufig als Fluoreszenzsonde oder -farbstoff in der analytischen Chemie und Biochemie verwendet.
Anwendung
2,5-Diphenyloxazol (PPO) kann verwendet werden in:
- fluorografischen Verfahren für den Nachweis von Tritium, Tritium-markierten Glykopeptiden und 35S-markierten Proteinen
- Cocktails zur Flüssigszintillation als primäres und sekundäres Fluor
