Allgemeine Beschreibung

Titanium is a highlycorrosion-resistant metal that finds application in the fields ofelectrochemical catalysis, aerospace engineering, and biomedical implants. Ithas excellent strength, biocompatibility, Young’s modulus, and low density.

Anwendung

Titanium is extensively used as a substrate to grow titanium oxidenanotubes via anodization process. For example, it can be used to fabricate TiO2thin films and hydroxyapatite/Gr bioactive coatings.

This study examined the bone response to titanium dioxide nanotube modified implants. A total of 24 implants were placed in the femur of 4 beagles. Before placement, screw-shaped implants were classified into 3 groups; machined surface (group M), titanium dioxide

Artikel

Biomedical implants are essentially foreign substances within the human body that must survive many years’ exposure to demanding mechanical and physiological conditions. Despite these challenges, metal implants have been widely used to substitute for or rebuild hard tissues such as bones and teeth.
