Gene Information

human ... CD40LG(959)

General description

The CD40 ligand (CD40L/CD40LG), a type II membrane protein, belongs to the tumor-necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily. It has a sandwich extracellular structure that consists of a β-sheet, α-helix loop, and a β-sheet. The CD40LG gene is located on human chromosome Xq26.3.

Immunogen

CD40 ligand recombinant protein epitope signature tag (PrEST)

Application

Anti-CD40LG antibody produced in rabbit has been used in multiparameter immunofluorescence histology (1:50).

Biochem/physiol Actions

The CD40 ligand (CD40L/CD40LG) plays a regulatory role in B-cell fate during various aforementioned checkpoints in B-cell development and differentiation. It is essential for the development of anti-tumor immunity. CD40L can be used as a cancer-related target in antibody-based therapy.

Features and Benefits

Prestige Antibodies® are highly characterized and extensively validated antibodies with the added benefit of all available characterization data for each target being accessible via the Human Protein Atlas portal linked just below the product name at the top of this page. The uniqueness and low cross-reactivity of the Prestige Antibodies® to other proteins are due to a thorough selection of antigen regions, affinity purification, and stringent selection. Prestige antigen controls are available for every corresponding Prestige Antibody and can be found in the linkage section.

Every Prestige Antibody is tested in the following ways:
  • IHC tissue array of 44 normal human tissues and 20 of the most common cancer type tissues.
  • Protein array of 364 human recombinant protein fragments.
