General description

Chromoionophores are colored ionophores. It consists of two functionally different parts namely ionophore and chromophore; ionophore helps in recognizing ions whereas chromophore transduces a chemical information produced by ionophore-ion interaction.

Application

pH indicator can be covalently linked to a cellulose support. Model compound for pH and cation indicator dyes that can be covalently linked to cellulose.
