Gene Information

Specificity

The basic IGF-1-like forms (pl>9.0) showed substantial cross-reactivity, as did rat and mouse sera. Monoclonal antibody BM23 was capable of abolishing the biological activities of IGF-1 in vitro bioassays for insulin-like, mitogenic and sulphation activities.

AFFINITY CONSTANT: The affinity of monoclonal antibody BM23 for IGF-1 was 1 x 10E10 L/mole and the cross reactivities of IGF-2, MSA and porcine insulin were 1%, 0.05% and 0.0001% respectively

Immunogen

Purified human IGF-1.

Application

Immunohistological staining of tissue sections on frozen or formalin fixed paraffin wax embedded sections

Optimal working dilutions must be determined by the end user.

This Anti-Insulin-like Growth Factor-I Antibody, clone M23 is validated for use in IH(P) for the detection of Insulin-like Growth Factor-I.

Physical form

Format: Purified
The monoclonal is presented at a concentration of 100μg/1ml in phosphate buffered saline containing 10mM sodium azide and 1mg/ml bovine serum albumin. We recommend that each laboratory determine an optimum working titre for use in its particular application.

Storage and Stability

For use within 1 month of purchase store at +4°C, for long term storage aliquot antibody into small volumes and store at -20°C.

Insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) likely is involved in thyrocyte proliferation via autocrine mechanisms, but limited data are available on its in vivo expression in thyroid neoplasms. This prompted us to explore IGF-1 expression at the protein and mRNA levels

Cancer cells in their respective microenvironments must endure various growth-constraining stresses. Under these conditions, the cancer cell-derived factors are thought to modulate the signaling pathways between cell growth and dormancy. Here, we describe a cancer cell-derived regulatory system that modulates
