Description générale

Uncoordinated family member (unc)-51 like autophagy activating kinase 2 (ULK2) is encoded by the gene mapped to mouse chromosome 11. Mouse ULK2 (mULK2) belongs to the UNC-51-like protein kinase family. mULK2 protein is characterized with an amino-terminal kinase domain, a central proline/serine rich (PS) domain and a carboxy-terminal (C) domain. ULK2 is ubiquitously expressed and is mainly localized to autophagosomal membranes in mammalian cells.

Application

Anti-ULK2 antibody produced in rabbit has been used in western blot analysis and immunohistochemistry.

Actions biochimiques/physiologiques

Uncoordinated family member (unc)-51 like autophagy activating kinase 2 (ULK2) plays a crucial role in autophagy. It is also implicated in the regulation of elemental biological processes conserved among wide variety of species. Downregulated expression of the gene increases astrocyte transformation and tumor growth.
