Informations sur le gène

human ... PCK1(5105)

Description générale

PCK1 is a cytosolic enzyme that catalyzes the synthesis of phosphoenolpyruvate from oxaloacetate. Studies in mice have reported that Pck1 may have implications in diabetes and obesity-related disorders.
Rabbit Anti-PCK1 (AB1) antibody recognizes bovine, pig, human, mouse, and rat PCK1.

Immunogène

Synthetic peptide directed towards the N terminal region of human PCK1

Application

Rabbit Anti-PCK1 (AB1) antibody can be used for western blot applications at a concentration of 1μg/ml.

Actions biochimiques/physiologiques

PCK1 is a main control point for the regulation of gluconeogenesis. PCK1, along with GTP, catalyzes the formation of phosphoenolpyruvate from oxaloacetate, with the release of carbon dioxide and GDP. The expression of PCK1 can be regulated by insulin, glucocorticoids, glucagon, cAMP, and diet. Defects in this gene are a cause of cytosolic phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase deficiency. This gene is a main control point for the regulation of gluconeogenesis. The expression of this gene can be regulated by insulin, glucocorticoids, glucagon, cAMP, and diet. Defects in this gene are a cause of cytosolic phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase deficiency. A mitochondrial isozyme of the encoded protein also has been characterized. Publication Note: This RefSeq record includes a subset of the publications that are available for this gene. The PCK1 gene (Pck1 in rodents) encodes the cytosolic isozyme of phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (PEPCK-C), which is well-known for its function as a gluconeogenic enzyme in the liver and kidney. Mouse studies involving whole body and tissue-specific Pck1 knockouts as well
