Allgemeine Beschreibung

Protein A is an immunoglobulin (Ig)-binding protein expressed in Staphylococcus aureus. It is used to purify large amounts of IgG and binds to the fraction of crystallization (Fc) part of the antibody at the CH2–CH3 interface. Protein A-agarose might be suitable for low-pressure antibody isolation. Protein A-agarose is used for affinity chromatography, antibody purification, and characterization, and protein A, G, and L-resins.

Anwendung

Protein A-Agarose from Staphylococcus aureus has been used in immunoprecipitation. It has been used to study the effects of protein A immunoadsorption in patients with chronic dilated cardiomyopathy as well as to study multiple sclerosis and gastric cancer.

cAMP exerts differential effects on mitogenic signaling pathways. In many cells, cAMP inhibits growth factor-stimulated MAPK activity and proliferation. In others, cAMP promotes growth. TSH stimulates proliferation through elevations in cAMP in thyroid follicular cells. This mitogenic pathway is dependent

In bacteria, the 5' mRNA coding region plays an important role in determining translation output. Here, we report synthetic sequences that when placed in the 5'-mRNA coding region, leading to recombinant proteins containing short N-terminal extensions, virtually abolish, enhance or

We here report in Pisum sativum system a novel protein-protein interaction of β-subunit of heterotrimeric G-proteins (PsGβ) with a Mitogen activated protein kinase (PsMPK3) during cDNA library screening by yeast-two-hybrid assay. The transcript of these two genes also showed co-regulation

All viruses balance interactions between cellular machinery co-opted to support replication and host factors deployed to halt the infection. We use gene correlation analysis to perform an unbiased screen for host factors involved in influenza A virus (FLUAV) infection. Our
