Allgemeine Beschreibung

CBARA1 is a mitochondrial inner membrane protein that regulates calcium uptake. This membrane protein has EF-domains which may function as calcium sensors. CBARA1 may also act as an autoantigen and subsequently stimulate Th-1 mediated auto-immune responses . Anti-CBARA1 antibody is specific for CBARA1 in humans.

Immunogen

calcium binding atopy-related autoantigen 1 recombinant protein epitope signature tag (PrEST)

Anwendung

All Prestige Antibodies Powered by Atlas Antibodies are developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project and as a result, are supported by the most extensive characterization in the industry.

The Human Protein Atlas project can be subdivided into three efforts: Human Tissue Atlas, Cancer Atlas, and Human Cell Atlas. The antibodies that have been generated in support of the Tissue and Cancer Atlas projects have been tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues and through the recent efforts of the Human Cell Atlas project, many have been characterized by immunofluorescence to map the human proteome not only at the tissue level but now at the subcellular level. These images and the collection of this vast data set can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. We also provide Prestige Antibodies® protocols and other useful information.

Leistungsmerkmale und Vorteile

Prestige Antibodies® are highly characterized and extensively validated antibodies with the added benefit of all available characterization data for each target being accessible via the Human Protein Atlas portal linked just below the product name at the top of this page. The uniqueness and low cross-reactivity of the Prestige Antibodies® to other proteins are due to a thorough selection of antigen regions, affinity purification, and stringent selection. Prestige antigen controls are available for every corresponding Prestige Antibody and can be found in the linkage section.

Every Prestige Antibody is tested in the following ways:
  • IHC tissue array of 44 normal human tissues and 20 of the most common cancer type tissues.
  • Protein array of 364 human recombinant protein fragments.

Mitochondrial Ca(2+) uptake through the recently discovered Mitochondrial Calcium Uniporter (MCU) is controlled by its gatekeeper Mitochondrial Calcium Uptake 1 (MICU1). However, the physiological and pathological role of MICU1 remains unclear. Here we show that MICU1 is vital for adaptation

Control of myocardial energetics by Ca2+ signal propagation to the mitochondrial matrix includes local Ca2+ delivery from sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) ryanodine receptors (RyR2) to the inner mitochondrial membrane (IMM) Ca2+ uniporter (mtCU). mtCU activity in cardiac mitochondria is relatively low

The mitochondrial uniporter is a Ca2+-activated Ca2+ channel complex that displays exceptionally high conductance and selectivity. Here, we report cellular metal toxicity screens highlighting the uniporter's role in Mn2+ toxicity. Cells lacking the pore-forming uniporter subunit, MCU, are more resistant

The mitochondrial Ca2+ uniporter complex (MCUC) is responsible for Ca2+ influx into the mitochondrial matrix, playing critical roles in various mitochondrial functions. Eukaryotic MCUC consists of multiple subunits, and its Ca2+ influx activity is controlled by regulatory subunits, including mitochondrial

Nature, 467(7313), 291-296 (2010-08-10)
Mitochondrial calcium uptake has a central role in cell physiology by stimulating ATP production, shaping cytosolic calcium transients and regulating cell death. The biophysical properties of mitochondrial calcium uptake have been studied in detail, but the underlying proteins remain elusive.
