Retrograde Golgi transport protein RGP1 homolog (RGP1) is expressed in dendritic cells, CD56⁺ natural killer cells and CD19⁺ B cells. It is expressed in the cytoplasm.

Anwendung

Biochem./physiol. Wirkung

Retrograde Golgi transport protein RGP1 homolog (RGP1) forms a complex with RAB6A-GEF complex partner protein 1 (Ric1) which together act like guanine nucleotide exchange factors for GTPases. They bind to the GDP-bound state of these GTPases. Loss of RGP1 destabilizes Ras-related protein 6 (Rab6) and further inhibits the transport of mannose-6-phosphate receptors to the Golgi, which depends on Rab6.
