Allgemeine Beschreibung

LY6G6F (lymphocyte antigen 6 complex, locus G6F) gene is mapped to the class III region of the MHC (Major Histocompatibility Complex) that contains a cluster of genes encoding cell-surface molecules. This protein contains two extracellular domains with the most N-terminal domain being V-type Ig domain. The intracellular domain contains one tyrosine residue in a consensus-binding motif (YXN) for the SH2 domain of Grb2 (growth-factor-receptor-bound protein 2).

Anwendung

Biochem./physiol. Wirkung

LY6G6F (lymphocyte antigen 6 complex, locus G6F) gene encodes a putative cell-surface receptor that belongs to the immunoglobin (Ig) superfamily. It is a type I transmembrane protein that is involved in the immune system and cellular recognition. It functions in the downstream signal transduction pathways involving GRB2, such as Ras–MAP kinase pathway.
