Synthetisches Vitamin D3-Aanalogon, das zu 1,25-Dihydroxycholecalciferol verstoffwechselt wird. Hemmt die Knochenresorption und stimuliert die Knochenbildung. Unterdrückt Parathormon-Sekretion durch Rindemebenschilddrüsenzellen.
