Informations sur le gène

human ... EGR1(1958)

Immunogène

Synthetic peptide directed towards the N terminal region of human EGR1

Application

Rabbit polyclonal anti-EGR1 antibody is used to tag early growth response 1 factor for detection and quantitation by immunocytochemical and immunohistochemical (IHC) techniques. It is used as a probe to determine the presence and roles of early growth response 1 factor in cell processes such as apoptosis, differentiation, mitogenesis and senescence.

Actions biochimiques/physiologiques

Early Growth Response Protein 1 (EGR1, Krox-24 protein, nerve growth factor-induced protein A, Transcription factor ETR103, Zinc finger protein 225) belongs to the EGR family of C2H2-type zinc-finger proteins. It is a nuclear protein and functions as a transcriptional regulator. The products of target genes it activates are required for differentitation and mitogenesis. Studies suggest this is a cancer suppresor gene. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the EGR family of C2H2-type zinc-finger proteins. It is a nuclear protein and functions as a transcriptional regulator. The products of target genes it activates are required for differentitation and mitogenesis. The PTEN tumour suppressor and pro-apoptotic gene is frequently mutated in human cancers. We show that PTEN transcription is upregulated by Egr-1 after irradiation in wild-type, but not egr-1-/-, mice in vivo. We found that Egr-1 specifically binds to the

The biosynthesis of the zinc finger transcription factor Egr-1 is stimulated by many extracellular signaling molecules including hormones, neurotransmitters, growth and differentiation factors, and cytotoxic metabolites. The 5'-flanking region of the Egr-1 gene contains genetic elements that are essential in
