Acetylcholine chloride is a stable cholinergic agonist with muscarinic and nicotinic actions.

Application

These Secondary Standards are qualified as Certified Reference Materials. These are suitable for use in several analytical applications including but not limited to pharma release testing, pharma method development for qualitative and quantitative analyses, food and beverage quality control testing, and other calibration requirements.
Acetylcholine chloride may be used as a pharmaceutical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in pharmaceutical preparation using high-performance liquid chromatography/electrospray ionization mass spectrometry.

Actions biochimiques/physiologiques

Le chlorure d′acétylcholine, injecté à raison de 20 mg/kg de poids corporel, réduit la mortalité et les taux de cytokines pro-inflammatoires plasmatiques chez des souris présentant une septicémie induite expérimentalement . Le mécanisme anti-inflammatoire cholinergique dépend probablement de l′interaction entre l′acétylcholine et les récepteurs cholinergiques α7n présents sur les monocytes, macrophages et neutrophiles, qui diminue les taux de cytokines pro-inflammatoires telles que TNF-α, IL-1β et IL-6.
