Cadmium (Cd) is a chemical element generally used as a precursor and catalyst in organic reactions.

Application

  • Autophagy activation for cell protection: Research on rat hepatocytes demonstrated that autophagy activation could be a mechanism for cellular protection against lead-cadmium-triggered apoptosis, offering insights into the potential therapeutic strategies against heavy metal toxicity (Xue et al., 2024).
