Gene Information

human ... FOXF1(2294)

General description

FOXF1 is a transcription factor that is induced upon p53-dependent DNA damage. Studies have reported that this transcription factor may act as a p53 target. FOXF1 may also regulate the invasion and migration of cancer cells.
Rabbit Anti-FOXF1 recognizes canine, human, mouse, and chicken FOXF1.

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide directed towards the C terminal region of human FOXF1

Application

Rabbit Anti-FOXF1 (AB2) antibody can be used for western blotting assays at a concentration of 2.5μg/ml. It can also be used for IHC at 4-8μg/ml, using paraffin-embedded tissues.

Biochem/physiol Actions

This gene belongs to the forkhead family of transcription factors which is characterized by a distinct forkhead domain. The specific function of this gene has not yet been determined; however, it may play a role in the regulation of pulmonary genes as well as embryonic development.

Sequence

Synthetic peptide located within the following region: PCNPAANPLSGSLSTHSLEQPYLHQNSHNAPAELQGIPRYHSQSPSMCDR

Physical form

Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer with 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide and 2% sucrose.

p53 is an established tumor suppressor that can activate the transcription of multiple target genes. Recent evidence suggests that p53 may contribute to the regulation of cell invasion and migration. In this study, we show that the forkhead box transcription
