General description

The SRM 114 series for portland cement fineness has been provided by NIST since 1934 for use in calibrating instruments for measuring fineness characteristics of portland cement and other powdered construction materials. SRM 114r is the latest of this series providing certified values for cement fineness by Blaine apparatus. A unit of SRM 114r consists of 20 glass vials with plastic caps containing powdered cement. Each vialis sealed in a foil bag and contains approximately 5 g of cement.

Allow the sealed foil bag to equilibrate totesting temperature before opening. To open the pouch, cut off the end with scissors. Fluff the cement in accordancewith ASTM Standard C204, Section 5.3 and then perform the measurement.
