General description

E. coli chromogenic ID Membranes are substrate-carrying membranes used for rapid identification and differentiation of E. coli through characteristic chromogenic reactions while placed on the agar surface post-incubation. The membranes contain chromogenic substrate X-Gal. The principle is based on the ability of E. coli to cleave X-Gal substrate, giving a blue colony that is visible post-incubation.

Application

E. coli Chromogenic ID Membrane is used for rapid detection & confirmation of Escherichia coli in water and food samples, based on a chromogenic method. They find their application in various sectors such as the food and dairy industry, water industry, pharmaceutical laboratory testing, cosmetic industry, environmental and sanitary testing, clinical diagnostic, etc.
