General description

Anti-Dopamine D₃ Receptor, rabbit polyclonal, recognizes the dopamine D3 receptor in rat brain. Does not cross-react with other dopamine receptors. It is validated for use in ELISA, WB, FC, and IHC.
Rabbit polyclonal antibody supplied as undiluted serum. Recognizes the ~50 kDa D3 dopamine receptor protein.
Recognizes the dopamine D3 receptor in rat brain. Does not cross-react with other dopamine receptors.

Immunogen

a synthetic peptide (ASLSQLSSHC) corresponding to amino acids (2-10) of human dopamine D₃ receptor

Application

ELISA (see comments)

Flow Cytometry (1:100, see application references)

Immunoblotting (1:500)

Immunohistochemistry (1:5000)

Warning

Toxicity: Standard Handling (A)

Reconstitution

Reconstitute the antibody with 100 µl PBS containing 10 mg/ml BSA. For further dilution of the antibody use a similar buffer formulation. Following reconstitution, refrigerate (4°C).

Other Notes

This antiserum is highly specific for the immunizing peptide sequence. For immunohistochemistry, a 1:5000 dilution of the reconstituted serum demonstrated staining of specific cells in various regions of rat brain sections. Such staining includes dendritic labeling in the molecular layers (cortex layer 1 and molecular layer of the hippocampus) as well as the plasma membranes of neurons in layer 5 of cortex and the glomeruli of the olfactory bulb. This antibody has also been reported to work for ELISA. Variables associated with assay conditions will dictate the proper working dilution.

In human immunodeficiency virus-1 (HIV) infected individuals, substance abuse may accelerate the development and/or increase the severity of HIV associated neurocognitive disorders (HAND). It is proposed that CD14+CD16+ monocytes mediate HIV entry into the central nervous system (CNS) and that
