General description

The metabotropic glutamate receptors belong to a family of G protein-coupled receptors that have been divided into 3 groups based on their sequence homology, putative signal transduction mechanisms, and pharmacologic properties. mGluR2 belongs to the Group II. It is widely expressed in different regions of fetal and the adult brain. Ligand binding to GluR2 induces a conformation change in the receptor, which triggers signaling to modulate the activity of down-stream effectors, mainly via the inhibition of adenylate cyclase activity. Activation of mGluR2 leads to inhibition of glutamate release at the synaptic junction

Immunogen

Epitope: Cytoplasmic domain
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to the cytoplasmic domain of mouse mGlur2.

Application

Anti-mGluR2 Antibody is an antibody against mGluR2 for use in Western Blotting, Immunoprecipitation.
Immunoprecipitation Analysis: 10 µg from a representative lot immunoprecipitated mGlur2 in 500 µg of rat brain microsomal prep.

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blotting in rat brain microsomal prep.

Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution of this antibody detected mGlur2 in 10 µg of rat brain microsomal prep.

Target description

~95/200 kDa observed. The lower band corresponds to the calculated molecular weight of mGluR2 (~100 kDa) and the upper band is likely a receptor dimer and frequently appears in immunoblots of mGluRs (Reid and Romano, 2001; Romano et al., 1996).

Physical form

Affinity purified
Purified rabbit polyclonal in buffer containing 0.1 M Tris-Glycine (pH 7.4), 150 mM NaCl with 0.05% sodium azide.

Storage and Stability

Stable for 1 year at 2-8°C from date of receipt.

The beta-lactam antibiotic ceftriaxone reliably attenuates the reinstatement of cocaine seeking. While the restoration of nucleus accumbens core (NA core) GLT-1 expression is necessary for ceftriaxone to attenuate reinstatement, AAV-mediated GLT-1 overexpression is not sufficient to attenuate reinstatement and does
