Caffeine solution may be used as a surrogate standard for the determination of selected antibiotics like ofloxacin, norfloxacin, roxithromycin, erythromycin-H2O, sulfadiazine, sulfadimidine, sulfamethoxazole, amoxicillin and chloramphenicol in water samples using high performance liquid chromatography coupled with electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry(HPLC-MS-MS).
