General description

Native coagulation factor XIa from human plasma prepared from homogeneous Factor XI by activation with human Factor XIIa. Factor XIIa is removed after activation. In vivo, Factor XI is activated to Factor XIa via Factor XIIa and High Molecular Weight Kininogen (Cat. No. 422686). Factor XIa activates Factor IX to Factor IXa in a reaction that does not require membrane surfaces.
