Gene Information

human ... OPRD(4985)

General description

Anti-OPRD1 antibody detects endogenous levels of total OPRD1 protein.
The OPRD1 (opioid receptor δ1) gene is mapped to human chromosome 1p35.3 and encodes for a G-protein-coupled receptor. It is abundantly expressed in peripheral tissues.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human OPRD1.

Immunogen Range: 311-360

Biochem/physiol Actions

OPRD1 (opioid receptor δ1) is associated with cognitive function and mood driven behavior. Anxiolytic and antidepressant actions are brought about when specific agonists bind to the OPRD1 gene. δ-opioid receptor (DOR) is known to be involved in the progression and development of specific tumours (malignant). Upregulation of this gene is observed in breast cancer, and thus, it can serve as an important therapeutic marker.
