Gene Information

human ... RAC1(5879)

General description

RAC1 (ras-related C3 botulinum toxin substrate 1) is a polarity related protein , that belongs to the Rho family of small guanosine triphosphatases. It is located on human chromosome 7p22.

Immunogen

Peptide sequence around aa. 69-73 (P-L-S-Y-P), according to the protein RAC1.

Application

Anti-RAC1 (Ab-71) antibody has been used in western blot analysis .

Biochem/physiol Actions

RAC1 (ras-related C3 botulinum toxin substrate 1) plays a major role in cancer invasion and metastasis. It can be considered as a therapeutic target for breast cancer. It is essential for several cellular activities like phagocytosis, adhesion, migration, motility, cell proliferation and axonal growth.

Features and Benefits

Evaluate our antibodies with complete peace of mind. If the antibody does not perform in your application, we will issue a full credit or replacement antibody. Learn more.

Target description

Rac1 encoded by this gene is a GTPase which belongs to the RAS superfamily of small GTP-binding proteins. Members of this superfamily appear to regulate a diverse array of cellular events, including the control of cell growth, cytoskeletal reorganization, and the activation of protein kinases. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

Physical form

Solution in phosphate-buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol
