1-Benzylpiperazine has stimulant and euphoric properties. It is commonly used constituent of party pill drugs. It is a potential antidepressant and is an active metabolite of the withdrawn antidepressant drug piberaline.

Application

1-Benzylpiperazine was used to study the inhibition of various acetylcholinesterases by 7-ethyl-10-[4-(1-piperidino)-1-piperidino]carbonyloxycamptothecin and related compounds.
