Biochem/physiol Actions

HIF-1α stabilizer 1a, a cyclometalated iridium(III) complex, is a cell penetrant stabilizer of hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) that binds to Von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) tumor suppressor and inhibits the VHL–HIF-1α interaction thereby preventing HIF-1α degradation. HIF-1α stabilizer 1a induces HIF-1α accumulation in cells and activates HIF-1α mediated gene expression. It significantly accelerates wound closure in both normal.
