Application
Atto 680 is a fluorescent label with high molecular absorption (125.0) and quantum yield (0.30), as well as a sufficient Stoke′s shift (excitation maximum 680 nm, emission maximum 700 nm). It has limited cis-trans-isomerization, which enhances its brightness and reproducibility. Conjugation of Atto 680 to steptavidin does not significantly alter the label′s spectral data regarding excitation and emission maxima. Additionally, the molar absorbance and quantum yield remain high. Such conjugation is useful as a secondary detection reagent in histochemical applications, flow cytometry, microarrays, blot analysis, and immunoassays. Atto 680-streptavin does not show strong fluorescence until bound to biotin.
