Application

Porcine Serum has been used as a supplement in the culture media of primary retinal capillary-derived microvascular endothelial cells.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Serum is mostly required as a supplement to cell culture media. It contains macromolecules, carrier proteins, attachment and spreading factors, low molecular weight nutrients, and hormones and growth factors.
Porcine Serum is commonly used as a media supplement in virus and mycoplasma production applications, as well as certain specialized applications.
