General description
Method: colorimetric with color card and sliding comparator 0.1 - 0.25 - 0.4 - 0.6 - 0.8 - 1.0 - 1.5 mg/l HCHO MQuant®
This MQuant® Formaldehyde test (formally MColortest®) is suitable for the colorimetric determination using the easy to use color card. The evaluation considers the untreated sample so even turbid and colored water samples can be analyzed without further preparation. Formaldehyde is used as a disinfectant for surfaces, medical equipment and also as a raw material in binding agents, fixing agents or as a preservative.
The test can be used in
Method
Formaldehyde reacts with 4-amino-3-hydrazino-5-mercapto-1,2,4-triazole to form a purple-red tetrazine. The formaldehyde concentration is measured semiquantitatively by allocating the color to a value on a reference scale.
The test can be used in
- Disinfectant and rinsing solutions (e. g. laundries)
- Aqueous solutions
- Process water
- Electroplating wastewater
- Food after appropriate sample pretreatment
