General description

Zirconium(IV) oxynitrate hydrate is an inorganic salt primarily used as a precursor for the synthesis of zirconium nanoparticles, to fabricate Li-ion batteries, and as a catalyst in various chemical reactions.

Application

Zirconium(IV) oxynitrate hydrate can be used:
  • As a starting material to prepare electrolytes for Li-ion batteries.
  • For the surface modification of cathodes, to enhance the electrochemical properties of all-solid-state batteries.
  • As a precursor for surfactant-free synthesis of zirconia nanostructures.
It can also be used as a catalyst for:
  • Regiospecific alcoholysis and aminolysis of epoxides.
  • One-pot synthesis and oxidation of bis- and tris(indolyl)methanes into conjugated chromophores.
