Target description

OX-2 membrane glycoprotein (UniProt: O54901; also known as CD200, MRC OX-2 antigen) is encoded by the Cd200 (also known as Mox2) gene (Gene ID: 17470) in mouse. CD200/OX2 is a widely expressed, single-pass type I membrane glycoprotein that is synthesized with a signal peptide (aa 1-30), which is subsequently cleaved off to produce the mature protein that contains an extracellular domain (aa 31-232), a transmembrane domain (aa 233-259), and a cytoplasmic domain (aa 260-278). It also contains one V-type Ig-like domain (aa 31-141) and one C2-type Ig-like domain (aa 142-232). It is widely expressed on a broad range of cells including lymphoid cells, neurons, and endothelium. It interacts with CD200R, an immunoglobulin superfamily inhibitory receptor that is expressed primarily on myeloid/monocyte lineage cells and has a suppressive effect on T cell-mediated immune response. CD200 also serves as a pani-slet marker of pancreatic endocrine cells, including insulin-expressing β- cells, but does not recognize exocrine cells. Its levels are reported to be elevated in pancreatic β cells following SARS-CoV-2 infection and this infection is strictly dependent on ACE2 receptor. Three isoforms of CD200/OX2 have been described that are produced by alternative splicing. (Ref.: van der Heide, V., et al. (2022). Cell Rep. 38(11); 110508; Dorfman, DM., and Shahsafaei, A. (2010). Physical form

Purified rat monoclonal antibody IgG2a in PBS without azide.

Reconstitution

0.5 mg/mL. Please refer to guidance on suggested starting dilutions and/or titers per application and sample type.

Storage and Stability

Store at -10°C to -25°C. Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance.

Other Notes

Concentration: Please refer to the Certificate of Analysis for the lot-specific concentration.
