Gene Information

human ... FGFR4(2264)

General description

FGFR4 (fibroblast growth factor receptor 4) is part of a family of fibroblast growth factor receptors that plays an important role in the biological functions of specific growth factors. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the fibroblast growth factor receptor family, where amino acid sequence is highly conserved between members and throughout evolution. There are four members of the FGF receptor family: FGFR-1 (flg), FGFR-2 (bek, KGFR), FGFR-3 and FGFR-4. FGFR family members differ from one another in their ligand affinities and tissue distribution. A full-length representative protein would consist of an extracellular region, composed of three immunoglobulin-like domains, a single hydrophobic membrane-spanning segment and a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase domain. The extracellular portion of the protein interacts with fibroblast growth factors, setting in motion a cascade of downstream signals, ultimately influencing mitogenesis and differentiation.

The previously assigned protein identifier G3JVM2 has been merged into P22455. Full details can be found on the UniProt database.

Immunogen

Purified recombinant fragment of human FGFR4 expressed in E. Coli.

Application

Detect FGFR4 using this mouse monoclonal antibody, Anti-FGFR4 Antibody, clone 4H2B10B2 validated for use in western blotting & IHC.
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:200-1,000 dilution from a representative lot detected FGFR4 in human liver tissue.

Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user.
