General description

Thrombin is a protease used to digest fusion proteins prepared from pGEX vectors recognition sequence for thrombin (pGEX-1lT, pGEX-2T, pGEX-2TK, pGEX-4T-1, pGEX-4T-2, and pGEX-4T-3). Purified from bovine plasma.

Thrombin is a protease used to digest fusion proteins prepared from pGEX vectors (see pGEX Vectors (GST Gene Fusion System)) containing the recognition sequence for thrombin (pGEX-1lT, pGEX-2T, pGEX-2TK, pGEX-4T-1, pGEX-4T-2, and pGEX-4T-3).

Application

Used for site-specific separation of the GST tag from proteins expressed using pGEX-T vectors

Features and Benefits

  • Enables the site-specific cleavage of fusion proteins containing an accessible thrombin recognition sequence
  • Purified from bovine plasma; functionally free of other clotting factors, plasminogen, and plasmin
  • Can be used either following affinity purification or while fusion proteins are bound to Glutathione Sepharose 4B, Glutathione Sepharose High Performance, or Glutathione Sepharose 4 Fast Flow

Our daily life depends on muscle contraction, a process that is controlled by the neuromuscular junction (NMJ). However, the mechanisms of NMJ assembly remain unclear. Here we show that Rapsn, a protein critical for NMJ formation, undergoes liquid-liquid phase separation
