Cell Line Origin

Rat ACI spleen x Mouse Sp2/0 Ag-14

Cell Line Description

The BF-11 hybridoma cell line secretes a rat monoclonal antibody named Epoclonalan that reacts with human erythropoietin. Spleen cells from ACI strain rats that had been immunised with human urinary erythropoietin have been fused with Sp2/0 Ag-14 to produce this cell line. The α, β and asialo forms of human erythropoietin are bound by the antibody to the same extent.

Immunogen

Human erythropoietin

Application

Immunological studies, isolation of erythropoietin by immuno-affinity methods.
The isotype of the monoclonal antibody produced by this cell line is rat IgG2a.

Culture Medium

DMEM + 2mM glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS)

Subculture Routine

Maintain cultures between 100,000 - 1,000,000 cells/ml; 5% CO2; 37°C.
