General description

Manganese(II) sulfate monohydrate (MnSO4·H2O) is a hydrated manganese salt. The neurological response caused in rhesus monkeys due to MnSO4 exposure have been studied. The limiting molar conductance and association constant of MnSO4 dissolved in aqueous N,N-dimethylformamide have been determined. The solubility, binary interaction parameters and solubility parameters were obtained for aqueous solution containing manganese sulfate monohydrate and magnesium sulfate.

Application

Manganese(II) sulfate monohydrate may be used to assist the oxidation of arenes and sulfides by potassium permanganate.
