General description

Aquivion® D79-25BS-Li is a dispersion based on the short-side-chain (SSC) copolymer of Tetrafluoroethylene and the Sulfonyl Fluoride Vinyl Ether (SFVE) CF2=CF2-O-(CF2)2-SO2F industrially produced by Solvay Specialty Polymers. The resulting perfluoropolymer′s functional groups are in their lithium sulfonate form, SO3Li. Aquivion® D79-25BS-Li is delivered as a colloidal dispersion in highly pure deionized water. It contains the perfluoropolymer′s neutral lithium salt form (R-SO3Li) of low equivalent weight (EW) 790 g/mole SO3H at very high solid content of 25 % by weight which allows a large variety of subsequent formulations without additional pre-concentration steps. D79-25BS-Li contains "chemically stabilized" perfluoropolymer in which a large amount of polymer end groups are converted to their inert "CF3" configuration.
We are committed to bringing you Greener Alternative Products, which adhere to one or more of The 12 Principles of Greener Chemistry. This product has been enhanced for energy efficiency and is intended for use as Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) Fuel Cells. Click here for more information.

Application

Once formulated with solvents Aquivion® D79-25BS-Li can be used for the preparation of cast films or membranes, of coatings on various substrates. Formulations with volatile and non-volatile additives to make components for electrochemical devices are another possible way of using D79-25BS-Li.

Preparation Note

Store product near room temperature and keep away from sources of radiation (UV, IR) or ignition. Do not freeze. Agitate and eventually sonicate prior to use.
