To construct a pharmacokinetic (PK) model and to determine population PK parameters of nitroglycerin (GTN), 1,2-dinitroglycerin (1,2-GDN), and 1,3-dinitroglycerin (1,3-GDN). Data were obtained in thirty healthy volunteers following a single dose of a GTN reservoir transdermal patch. Blood samples were

Glyceryl trinitrate (GTN) is used to control arterial blood pressure during cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) procedures, but its effects are often decreased during the period of extracorporeal support. The plasma and urine concentrations of GTN and glyceryl-1,2-dinitrate (1,2-GDN) and glyceryl-1,3-dinitrate (1,3-GDN)

Patients with chronic heart failure (CHF) often require higher doses of nitroglycerin (glyceryl trinitrate, GTN) than patients with normal cardiac function to achieve a given haemodynamic goal. Two pathways leading to biotransformation of GTN have been characterized; a high-affinity pathway

Canadian journal of physiology and pharmacology, 71(8), 629-632 (1993-08-01)
It has previously been shown that the vasodilatory response to glyceryl trinitrate (GTN) was decreased during hypothermic cardiopulmonary bypass. The purpose of these experiments was to determine the effect of temperature on GTN-induced relaxation and on GTN biotransformation in rabbit

Pharmaceutical research, 8(10), 1231-1237 (1991-10-01)
The percutaneous penetration kinetics of the antianginal, nitroglycerin (GTN), and its primary metabolites, 1,2- and 1,3-glyceryl dinitrate (1,2- and 1,3-GDN), were evaluated in vitro, using full-thickness hairless mouse skin. GTN and the 1,2- and 1,3-GDNs were applied (a) in aqueous
