General description

ASCT1 functions primarily as a neutral amino acid exchanger. ASCT 1-mediated transport requires the presence of sodium ions but ASCT1 mediates only homo- and hetero exchange of amino acids and is insensitive to K+. The properties of ASCT1 suggest that it may function to equilibrate different pools of neutral amino acids and provide a mechanism to link amino acid concentration gradients. ASCT1 expression has been found at varying levels in every tissue examined.

Immunogen

Synthetic 20 amino acid peptide from C-terminus of human GLP1R. Percent identity with other species by BLAST analysis: Human, Gorilla, Gibbon, Monkey, Marmoset, Horse (100%); Hamster, Elephant, Pig (95%); Mouse, Rat, Dog, Panda, Rabbit, Turkey, Chicken (90%); Bat, Opossum (85%); Lizard (80%).
