General description
Supelco® is a global proficiency testing (PT) provider that manufactures best-in-class environmental and pharmaceutical PT products. Most water PT samples are available as concentrates or ready-to-use volumes giving the end-user flexibility in selecting samples that will fit their exact needs. Our WP program is designed to meet the quality assurance requirements in compliance with Discharge Monitoring Report - Quality Assurance Program (DMR-QA), thereby ensuring the analytical competence of your laboratory.
These samples are typically provided in duplicate for use in case of lab mishap, for QC purposes or to analyze multiple methods.

Features and Benefits
Our proficiency testing (PT) program is a benchmark to:
- provide staff with an insight into their laboratory′s performance, to verify the accuracy and reliability of their testing process
- provide a comparison of performance with that of other laboratories, nationally and internationally
- test and educate staff, provide a better understanding of the impact of incorrect results and identify areas where there may be problems
- provide an independent evaluation of laboratory performance

Preparation Note
- This PT sample is packaged as a 20 mL concentrate.
- The solvent for this sample is 5% nitric acid by volume in DI water.
- The PT sample has not been preserved.
Sample Preparation
- To prepare the solution, partially fill a 1000 mL volumetric flask with reagent-grade water (near 20 ºC) and add 1 mL of trace-metal-grade nitric acid.
- Open ampule PE1132-20ML (be careful to avoid cuts on glass) and transfer 10.0 mL of concentrate to the volumetric flask.
- Fill the flask to volume with reagent-grade water and mix well.
- The sample is now ready for immediate digestion and analysis, as per laboratory SOPs.
- A reagent-grade blank should be analyzed concurrently for background correction.
- The water blank should be made to match the acid matrix of the standards and samples.
- Each analyte is reported in μg/L.
NOTE: The 0.15% v/v nitric acid specification is a minimum; the amount and type of acid may be altered to routine analytical procedures if needed.
NOTE: Mercury can be present as both inorganic and organic mercury.

How to Find a Lot/Batch Number for COA
Lot and Batch Numbers can be found on a product's label following the words 'Lot' or 'Batch'.
Aldrich Products
For a lot number such as TO09019TO, enter it as 09019TO (without the first two letters 'TO').
For a lot number with a filling-code such as 05427ES-021, enter it as 05427ES (without the filling-code '-021').
For a lot number with a filling-code such as STBB0728K9, enter it as STBB0728 without the filling-code 'K9'.
