General description

ROCK Inhibitor (Y-27632) is a selective, ATP-competitive inhibitor of Rho-associated protein kinase (ROCK) including p160Rock (Ki=140nM) and Rock-II. Also acts as a potent inhibitor of agonist-induced Ca2+ sensitization of myosin phosphorylation and smooth muscle contraction. One-hour treatment with 10uM Y-27632 blocks apoptosis of dissociated cultured human embryonic stem cells (hESCs), increases survival and cloning efficiency of hESCs without affecting their pluripotency1. Recently, some reports showed that the application of Y-27632 and Accutase (Cat. No. SCR005), a formulated mixture of digestive enzymes, enhances the post-thaw survival rate of single hESCs using conventional slow freezing and rapid thawing methods
