General description

Silicone Isolators allow researchers to isolate specimens using removable hydrophobic barriers. They may be used to isolate cells grown in culture dishes or separate multiple specimens affixed to microscope slides. Isolators are available in red silicone thickness 0.5 to 2.5mm pre-cut or as sheet material with or without secure seal clean adhesive on one or both surfaces. Nonadhesive isolators are autoclavable and reusable.

Silicone Isolators remain sealed to smooth surfaces during washing steps. Where additional sealing is required, SecureSeal adhesive on one or both surfaces is recommended. Each seal design is also available in CultureWell "water-clear" silicone, which is highly recommended for sensitive cell culture applications. Closed chambers may be formed using flexible RNase free, HybriSlip covers. Recommended use temperature is -62°C to 218°C.

Single molecule spectroscopy

Delivery to the proper tissue compartment is a major obstacle hampering the potential of cellular therapeutics for medical conditions. Delivery of cells within biomaterials may improve localization, but traditional and newer void-forming hydrogels must be made in advance with cells

Dynamic reorganization of the actomyosin cytoskeleton allows fast modulation of the cell surface, which is vital for many cellular functions. Myosin-II motors generate the forces required for this remodeling by imparting contractility to actin networks. However, myosin-II activity might also
