General description

CNBr-activated Sepharose 4 Fast Flow is a well established, pre-activated chromatography medium for coupling of large amino-containing ligands.

CNBr-activated Sepharose 4 Fast Flow is based on the well established Sepharose Fast Flow platform. The resin is composed of cross-linked 4% agarose beads that has been pre-activated with cyanogen bromide. CNBr-activated Speharose 4 Fast Flow is designed for multipoint attachment of protein ligands containing amino groups.

The preparation and use of affinity chromatography media by coupling biospecific ligands to CNBr-activated Sepharose 4 Fast Flow is a widely used, successful and well-documented approach, with an easy, rapid and efficient coupling procedure.

CNBr-activated Sepharose 4 Fast Flow is available in a range of different bulk pack sizes and convenient pre-packed formats for easy scale-up and process development.
As member of the BioProcess media range, CNBr-activated Sepharose 4 Fast Flow meets industrial demands with security of supply and comprehensive technical and regulatory support.

This page shows coupling through the primary amine of a ligand with a NHS-activated Sepharose High Performance, NHS-activated Sepharose 4 Fast Flow and CNBr-activated Sepharose from Cytiva.

While ligands contribute significantly to the degree of hydrophobicity of a medium, the matrix can also influence the final selectivity. Chromatography media for hydrophobic interaction are made from porous matrices, chosen for their physical stability, their chemical resistance to stringent cleaning conditions and their low level of non-specific interaction.
