General description

Sabouraud Dextrose Agar + LTHTh - ICR contact plate is a selective media for the determination of the total count of yeasts and molds. Contact plates are used for surface and personnel monitoring. Sabouraud Dextrose Medium contains digests of animal tissues (peptones) which provide a nutritious source of amino acids and nitrogenous compounds for the growth of fungi and yeasts. Dextrose is added as the energy and carbon source and low pH favours fungal growth. In addition, Lecithin, polysorbate 80 (Tween®), Histidine and Sodium thiosulfate are neutralizers to inactivate residues of disinfectants. The plates are triple bagged and gamma irradiated in the final packaging.

Application

Sabouraud Dextrose Agar (SDA) is a selective medium for cultivation and isolation of yeasts and molds. The media is used for environmental monitoring by determining the yeast and mold count on surfaces and personnel.
