General description
Adenosine-5′-triphosphate (ATP) plays an vital role in regulating cell movement, neurotransmission, and ion channels. Disruption of ATP homeostasis can induce diseases including ischemia, Parkinson′s disease and hypoglycaemia.Peroxynitrite (ONOO-) is a highly reactive nitrogen species with an extremely short biological half-life. ONOO- is known for its deleterious effects, causing irreversible damage to a range of biological targets such as lipids, proteins and nucleic acids. As a result, ONOO- is associated with diseases such as inflammation, cancer, atherosclerosis, ischemia-reperfusion injury and neurodegenerative diseases.BioTracker ATP-LW live cell dye is a dual probe for detection and imaging of ATP and peroxynitrite in live cells. The dye did not respond to presence of other reactive nitrogen/oxygen species such as H2O2 and HClO. However, ADP (adenosine diphosphate) and CTP (cytosine-5′-triphosphate) induced fluorescence enhancements. Note: BioTracker ATP-LW live cell dye is stable in DMSO but unstable is water and aqueous solution. Prepare the working solution and use it immediately.
