General description

A certified Snap-N-Spike® solution suitable for use as starting material in calibrators and controls for 4-ANPP LC/MS or GC/MS testing methods in clinical toxicology, urine drug testing or forensic analysis applications. 4-ANPP is an intermediate in the synthesis of fentanyl and related opioids and is often found as an impurity in fentanyl preparations. This Certified Spiking Solution® is supplied in a convenient US DEA-exempt solution format.

Application

  • Pressure sensitive adhesives and paper spray-mass spectrometry for the collection and analysis of fentanyl-related compounds from shipping materials: This study utilizes 4-ANPP as a marker for tracing the illegal distribution of fentanyl derivatives. It showcases innovative methods in forensic science for detecting and analyzing narcotic substances, highlighting the role of 4-ANPP in monitoring drug trafficking activities (Prunty S et al., 2023).
  • Analysis of 17 fentanyls in plasma and blood by UPLC-MS/MS with interpretation of findings in surgical and postmortem casework: Research-grade 4-ANPP is used in this detailed toxicological analysis to identify and quantify fentanyl and its analogs in biological specimens, providing crucial insights into the pharmacokinetics of opioid compounds in clinical and forensic settings (Danaceau JP et al., 2020).
  • Long-Term Stability of 13 Fentanyl Analogs in Blood: This article discusses the stability of fentanyl analogs, including 4-ANPP, in blood samples over time, providing essential data for the development of long-term storage protocols in forensic and clinical laboratories, facilitating accurate and reliable drug analysis (Palmquist KB et al., 2021).
  • Multiplex detection of 14 fentanyl analogues and U-47700 in biological samples: Application to a panel of French hospitalized patients: Demonstrates the application of 4-ANPP in the simultaneous detection of multiple fentanyl analogues using advanced mass spectrometry techniques. This study supports the development of rapid screening methods for emergency and therapeutic monitoring (Jung J et al., 2020).
  • Determination of fentanyl and 19 derivatives in hair: Application to an Italian population: Utilizes 4-ANPP in a novel method to analyze hair samples for fentanyl derivatives, providing a non-invasive approach to drug exposure assessment over extended periods, relevant in both clinical diagnostics and legal investigations (Freni F et al., 2020).
