Phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) is an isotonic solution that is used in many biological research applications. To make 1 L of PBS, add 100 mL of 10X PBS to 900 mL of water. This PBS recipe contains 137 mM NaCl, 2.7 mM KCl, 10 mM Na₂HPO₄, and 1.8 mM KH₂PO₄.
