General description

IgG antibody subtype is the most abundant serum immunoglobulin of the immune system. It is secreted by B cells and is found in blood and extracellular fluids and provides protection from infections caused by bacteria, fungi and viruses. Maternal IgG is transferred to the fetus through the placenta and is vital for immune defense of the neonate against infections. IgG4, κ recombinant protein is obtained by expression of a phage library in a human cell line and purified by affinity chromatography.

Application

The purified IgG4, κ may be used as an immunoglobulin calibrator, reference antigen, blocking agent, or coating protein in a variety of immunoassays including ELISA, dot blot immunoblotting, Western immunoblotting, immunodiffusion, immunoelectrophoresis, hemagglutination, and cell-binding assays.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4.

Analysis Note

The purity and identity are determined by immunoelectrophoresis, indirect ELISA, and SDS-PAGE.
