General description

HiTrap™ Protein L columns are prepacked with Capto™ L affinity chromatography resin for purification of antibody fragments containing the kappa light chain. This resin combines a rigid, high-flow agarose matrix with the immunoglobulin-binding recombinant protein L ligand, which has a strong affinity to the variable region of antibody kappa light chains.
HiTrap® Protein L columns are packed with Capto L affinity chromatography resin. It facilitates the purification of antibody fragments comprising the κ light chain. Capto L resin combines a rigid, high-flow agarose matrix with the immunoglobulin-binding recombinant protein L ligand, which binds to the variable region of antibody κ light chains with strong affinity. This resin is an effective capture platform for antibody fragments having κ light chains due to its strong binding capacity and affinity to a wide spectrum of antibody fragments.

Application

HiTrap® Protein L may be used to characterize human colorectal cancer MDR1/P-gp Fab and for the purification optimization of a single-chain variable fragment (scFv) against type 1 insulin-like growth factor receptor (IGF-1R). It may also be used for the purification of antigen-binding fragments (Fabs) and domain antibodies (dAbs).

Features and Benefits

  • Captures a wide range of antibody fragments
  • Allows a platform approach for the purification of antibody fragment
  • Offers low ligand leakage, high binding capacity, and selectivity for a broad range of antibody fragments
  • Reduces process time and amount of resin
  • Suitable for process development and small-scale purification
  • HiTrap® format easily connects to a syringe, peristaltic pump, or chromatographic equipment, such as an ÄKTA® system.
